| Abstract | A temperatura da água regula muitos processos físicos, químicos e biológicos em lagos e reservatórios, desempenhando papel fundamental na dinâmica das comunidades aquáticas em diferentes escalas temporais. Imagens de sensoriamento remoto por satélite podem complementar medidas in situ para compreender a variabilidade espacial e temporal da temperatura da água. Neste trabalho, foi avaliada a dinâmica de variação intradiária da temperatura superficial de lagoas costeiras do Rio Grande do Sul, e analisado o efeito da área superficial sobre estes padrões, entre os anos de 2012 e 2017, utilizando o produto MODIS M*D11A1. Identificamos um padrão homogêneo da temperatura das lagoas, com marcada variação sazonal. Os maiores valores de T foram observados durante o verão. A área superficial mostrou grande influência na redução da amplitude da variação da temperatura, com uma boa relação (r2 = 0,73) entre o logaritmo da área e o T. ABSTRACT: Water temperature regulates many physical, chemical and biological processes in lakes and reservouirs, having a fundamental role in the dynamics of aquatic communities in different temporal scales. Remote sensing imagery can complement the in situ monitoring to comprehend its spatial and temporal variability. In this work, we assessed the dynamics of the diel variation of the surface temperature of coastal lakes in Rio Grande do Sul, and analysed the influence of the superficial area on these patterns, between 2012 e 2017, using the MODIS product M*D11A1. We identified a homogeneous pattern on the lakes temperature, with a pronounced seasonal variation. The highest values of T were observed during summer. The superficial area showed great influence in the reduction of the amplitude of variation of the temperature, with good agreement (r2 = 0.73) between the logarithm of the area and T. |
